Wide receiver McLane Mannix, who transferred from Nevada to Texas Tech, has been granted an eligibility waiver from the NCAA and can play for the Red Raiders in 2019.
Mannix cited “personal family matters” as his reason for the transfer. He is entering his junior season.
Last season for the Wolf Pack, Mannix caught 50 passes for 875 yards and seven touchdowns. At Texas Tech, he’ll be called on to replace JaDeion High, who caught 62 passes for 804 yards and four touchdowns, and Antoine Wesley, who caught 88 balls for 1,410 yards and nine touchdowns.
High was a senior in 2018, and Wesley left early for the NFL draft. He was not drafted but signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent.
Mannix played in high school football in Midland, Texas, and originally committed to Vanderbilt before decommitting and choosing Nevada.
